Chaffinch

As the most common finch species here in the UK, the chaffinch is a very recognisable bird, particularly the male, whose orange-pink breast makes him easy to spot as he feeds both on the ground and among the trees.

Your chances of seeing one are increased further still in the winter when migrants from Scandinavia boost the local population.
