Speckled Wood

This little beauty loves to soak up the spotlight! You can find the speckled wood on the edge of or within shady wooded areas, where it enjoys perching in and fluttering through the bands of sunshine that break through the canopy.

Unlike many other butterflies, the speckled wood is rarely seen on flowers, and instead prefers feeding on aphid honeydew.
