Friends of Didsbury Park is a registered charity, number 1179064 and supported by:
Didsbury Park was one of the first municipal planned parks in the city.
It was re-designed in the 1920s to include recreational features for local residents including the two bowling greens which survive today.
There is also said to be an air-raid shelter underneath the football pitch but little is known about it.
The photos in the album show the park as it has been in the past and, although it has changed, it is instantly recognisable.
If anyone has any old photos of the park and would like to publish them on the website please let the webmaster know.
We are particularly keen to find out more about the air-raid shelter which is surrounded by mystery.
